PLOT
Dreaming of becoming maiko, Kiyo and Sumire traveled to Kyoto from Aomori Prefecture. But as a result of an unforeseen turn of circumstances, Kiyo begins working as the Maiko House's live-in cook. Along with their fellow maikos, their story takes place in Kyoto's Kagai, a Geiko and maiko district. They are fed every day by Kiyo's home-cooked meals, and Sumire works hard to achieve her goal of becoming the once-in-a-century maiko. Enter the opulent Kagai and let Kiyo's kitchen tales and behind-the-scenes stories warm your heart.
